New Products - Lower Prices

Have you checked out our website lately? We’ve recently added a full line of Cat 5e STP bulk cable, STP patch cables and shielded RJ45 connectors.

In addition, we’ve created a new section just for Audio/Video cables. Here you’ll find the latest in DVI, HDMI, extended SVGA and coaxial cables for multi-media applications.

Despite increases in the cost of copper, we have actually lowered prices on Cat x and many other cable products! Thanks to increased sales, our lower buying and manufacturing costs provide benefits...going right back to our customers.

At Warehouse Cables, guaranteed quality and performance remain all-important. We never sacrifice quality for price. That’s why all our cable products carry a lifetime guarantee.

Buyer beware of those “giveaway” cables often found on-line. If you find that free lunch…let us know!

The Great MHz Mystery

People often ask for the MHz rating of a particular Category x cable and become rapidly confused. The subject of rated bandwidth (MHz) for Category x cables, is viewed in two separate ways:

  1. TIA/EIA Published Standard
  2. Factory Tested Specification

As a published standard, Cat 5e and 6 cables are rated at 100 and 250 MHz respectively. However, the manufacturer will typically indicate a “tested” rating of 350 and 500 MHz as meeting the TIA/EIA standard. This becomes more confused as cables such us Cat 6 Augmented and Cat 7 are introduced as “proposed” standards independently by various manufacturers.

Simply put, when talking cable bandwidth, understand that “published” and “tested” are different numbers used to qualify a particular cable. The questions to ask are:

  1. Does it meet the TIA/EIA Standard for Category x?
  2. What bandwidth is the cable tested to?

Website Search Tips

We’ve all tried to use the Search field found on most websites. The result is usually a frustrating attempt to find the exact product you need. Often your keyword search returns hundreds of results, irrelevant results or no results at all!

Unfortunately, many websites simply have poorly implemented search engines. However, it also depends on how you ask! Usually a single keyword returns too broad a result.

Using multiple keywords makes sense but often yields no results at all. Here’s why:

We’re all used to typing in a “Google” type search engine request like - keyword keyword keyword. Note that in between each keyword is an implied and. So you really have keyword and keyword and keyword. Surprisingly, most website search engines don’t work that way. You need to type in the and between keywords. It’s just that simple. Example: cat5e and patchcord and stp.

Another common problem has to do with phrasing. Take the keyword cat 5e. Actually, it’s two keywords – cat and 5e. Results? Zip, ziltch, nada… Now enclose the two in quotes and we have “cat 5e”, a single, relevant search key.

Feeling wild? Try combining both methods! Example: “cat 5e” and patchcord and stp. You will be amazed at the accurate and relevant results.

Give Search another try!
